Katowice Street Art AiR 2018 is a continuation of the event that have been changing the landscape of Katowice for seven years, incorporating the works of the most interesting representatives of the world street art. Last year, the format of the festival was replaced by a year-round residential programme.

The artists will become familiar with Katowice and its residents during their stay in the city. Through site visits, analyses and consultations, they create art installations (objects or other spatial forms) that engage in a creative dialogue with the space. The event consistently presents the phenomenon of street art and is critical of the cityspace of Katowice. Apart from artistic interventions dedicated to particular places, related interdisciplinary activities are also planned as part of the undertaking: workshops, meetings, exhibitions, concerts and film shows.

Large format murals, art installations, temporary multimedia installations, projects combining design and typography, exhibitions, workshops and social projects have come into existence in the recent years.
